Decision: Stand-alone or centralised setup for Sites

Decision: Stand-alone or centralised setup for Sites

The BrightSentinel system enables a stand-alone account or centralised account setup.

This decision is primarily driven by how you want to manage your Sites.
  1. Should the Account Administrator centrally manage all Sites in a grouped account?
OR
  1. Should each Site have a nominated Site Administrator who is responsible for their independent account?

Example of a Group setup (centralised)

"IVF Clinic" sets up a Master Account and nominates "Account Administrator X" to manage the whole account.
In this account, "IVF Clinic" decides to deploy the BrightSentinel system to 2 Sites of the company: "IVF London Clinic" and "IVF New York Clinic".
For each Site, Account Administrator X nominates a Site Administrator to manage their respective Site Account.
The Site Administrator is the default Account Administrator of a Site only. They do not have access to the other sites in the group.
When the Account Administrator logs into the account, they are able to change the setup and view temperature records of all the Sites in the hierarchy of the group.

Example of a Stand-alone setup (independent)

"IVF Clinic" sets up separate Master Accounts for each of its 2 Sites of the company: "IVF London Clinic" and "IVF New York Clinic".
Each Site has a nominated Account Administrator who fully manages their repective Site.
In this case, the respective Account Administrators are able to change the setup and view temperature records only for the Site under their responsibility.
The Account Administrator of the Site may nominate a Site Administrator to manage the operations of the Site; thus providing another user of the system with the same access as the Account Administrator but only for this Site.

Stand-alone Site vs Group Setup

The difference  is:
  • In a group setup, the Account Administrator can view and act on all sites. Some environments prefer a centralised setup as it means greater visibility for quality management and comparisons across the different sites.
  • In a stand-alone setup, the Account Administrator can view and act only on the single site. Some environments prefer this independent setup as each site has different protocols or temperature monitoring needs.
There is no right or wrong; more what you want to achieve.
By default, BrightSentinel sets up your account as a grouped account when you initially start your subscription, unless you specify your requirements when you order your subscription. If you decide that a stand-alone format is more suitable, please contact us and we'll make the necessary changes.
